Long time Board Member Passes-ALBERTA STUBBLEFIELD "Thanks for your 20 Years of Dedicated Service"
ALBERTA LEE STUBBLEFIELD 1931 - 2018 Alberta Lee Stubblefield, age 87, went to be with her beloved husband, Bill, on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in Bakersfield, CA.
Alberta was born on December 1, 1931, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, and made numerous trips from Oklahoma to California with her family in her younger days. She met the love of her life, Bill Stubblefield, when she was 18 years old, and they were married on August 24, 1950. Alberta had three children, Patricia Lee, Anita Janine and William (Bud). Alberta helped manage and operate the family cattle and Dry Land Farming Ranch in Cuyama, CA, with her family until going to work for the U.S. Postal Department in 1969 until her retirement in 1997. She was also very active in Maricopa Unified School District as an active trustee from 1977 to 1997.
Alberta is survived by her daughter, Patricia White and her husband, Dale; her son, William (Bud) Stubblefield and his wife, Mary; her grandchildren, Jake Stubblefield and his wife, Christy, Shane Stubblefield, Andy Holland, and Katy Beecher and her husband, Brody; great-grandchildren, Kalli Stubblefield and Aurora Beecher.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Stubblefield, on January 15, 2009; her daughter, Anita Janine Wilson, on January 24, 2010; and by her granddaughter, Donna Nicole Wilson, on December 12, 1997. Alberta will be truly missed by all who knew her, but we are all thankful that she can walk hand in hand with Bill once again.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the West Side District Cemetery, Taft; and a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield. The arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest.
